Scope of internship
This internship opportunity is within the CGIAR Initiative on Diversification in East and Southern Africa to support various events across the region.
It would be a perfect opportunity for the intern to contribute to cutting-edge event planning within the research field and work with an international and diverse team of experts in the field of water management.
This will also give them an insight into working with people from a dynamic and multicultural work environment.The intern will assist in the following areas:
- Assist in coordinating and executing various events, from concept to completion.
- Collaborate with the events team on event design, logistics and work with industry professionals representing IWMI.
- Assist with event marketing and promotional activities to attract attendees and create a buzz.
- Help create visual content such as infographics, videos and photos to support IWMI's communication efforts.
- Conduct research to stay up to date with event industry trends and emerging technologies.
- Support onsite event management ensuring seamless execution.
Requirements:
- A graduate with a diploma /degree in Event Management, Hospitality, Marketing or related fields.
- Ability to work effectively in a fastpaced, multicultural environment and manage multiple tasks with competing deadlines.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills both written and verbal.
- A genuine interest in event planning and a desire to learn and grow within the industry.
- Excellent organizational abilities and a keen eye for detail.

- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
Benefits
The duration of the initial internship contract will be for 6 months with the possibility of extension based on performance, requirements of IWMI and the availability of funds.
