Job Title: Site Reliability Engineer

Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled Site Reliability Engineer to join our team at Lim Personnel. As a Site Reliability Engineer, you will work closely with our development team to ensure the reliability, scalability, and performance of our mission-critical systems. Your expertise will be crucial in designing, implementing, and maintaining our infrastructure to meet the needs of our customers.

Essential Skills:

Experience with container orchestration platforms, preferably Kubernetes.
Strong software development skills in one or more languages, including C# and JavaScript/TypeScript.
Deep understanding of Unix/Linux operating systems internals and administration, as well as the Unix networking stack.
Expertise in network fundamentals, including subnetting, routing, firewalling, DNS, and reverse proxies.
Strong knowledge of the TCP stack and the ability to debug problems at the socket/driver level.
Understanding of modern microservices communication architecture, including gRPC, Protobufs, and service meshes.

Advantageous Skills:

Ability to build highly automated CI/CD pipelines using bash or Python.
Experience with standard networking debug tools, including traceroute, MTR, and Wireshark/tcpdump.
Familiarity with IaaS knowledge, including deployment and maintenance of Linux VMs using Ansible.
Experience with cloud technologies, including Confluent Kafka, managed Kubernetes engines, and managed databases.
Working knowledge of CI/CD pipeline systems, including GitLab and GitHub Actions.
Experience with Git and repository hosting platforms, including GitLab, Nexus, and GitHub.

Qualifications and Experience:

Minimum 3 years of IT working experience or an IT diploma/degree.
Minimum 2 years of operations working experience.

Responsibilities and Role:

Work as a team member of a larger product team focused on the development and support of several mission-critical components.
Collaborate with the development team and product owner to plan and coordinate all 'Design for Run' activities.
Strive to improve the whole lifecycle of our services from inception, architecture design through deployment and operating these mission-critical systems.
Participate in 24/7 on-call rotations with teams around the world and restore systems in an efficient manner.
