- Oversee curriculum quality and relevance, ensuring alignment with CAIE standards.
- Stay up-to-date with curriculum and assessment developments, communicating necessary information to faculty members.
- Ensure teaching staff are aware of new teaching approaches and strategies.
- Promote the use of IT to enhance teaching and learning across the curriculum.
- Work with Class Teachers and Specialists to maintain and raise academic standards.
- Develop and review an annual curriculum development plan.
- Lead the tracking, analysis, and monitoring of learner's attainment and progress using iSAMS.
- Use data to inform decisions and improve academic systems.
- Triangulate data from various sources to gain a full picture of each learner.
- Design and implement strategies to improve academic performance.
- Coordinate checkpoint entries, timetables, and other administrative tasks.
- Coordinate learner awards and certificates.
- Play a key role in the performance management of academic staff.
- Undertake regular work scrutinies and lesson observations.
- Support new staff and guide them through the probationary period.
- Take responsibility for the Teaching Assistant appraisal system.
- Compose, contribute, review, and monitor academic policies.
- Be responsible for maintaining and updating the academic/curriculum sections of the school's CIS Self Evaluation Form.
- Oversee assessment, recording, and reporting procedures.
- Develop and implement modern vertical curriculum structures.
- Work closely with the Vice Principal of Secondary (Academic) to promote effective academic and curriculum links.
- Assist in the recruitment and appointment of staff.
- Develop and coordinate the Primary School timetable.
- Ensure pupils feel safe and secure within the school environment.
- Undertake child protection and safeguarding training.
- Ensure the Primary School environment is safe and well-maintained.
- Coordinate contribution to the staff policy handbook.
- Communicate with parents on academic and pastoral matters.
- Line manage Key Stage Leaders and support their CPD.
- Oversee the work of the Student Support Services.
- Line manage TAs and contribute to their CPD.
- Support colleagues in Sports and Arts.
- Support all staff through modelling excellent practice.
- Plan, evaluate, and adjust the Afternoon Activities programme.
- Contribute to and attend online and in-person meetings with community members.
- Keep abreast of current international Primary School standards.
- Effectively and respectfully manage difficult situations.
