    Civil Engineer – Pr.Eng Job Title

    We are seeking a Civil Engineer – Pr.Eng to join our team in Midrand, specializing in the Construction Industry.

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Translate and implement client specifications and requirements into designs.
    • Understand Environmental and regulatory requirements influencing designs.
    • Design storm water management and drainage systems.
    • Create pile foundation designs.
    • Develop road designs.
    • Design equipment foundations.
    • Create building designs.
    • Design concrete foundations.
    • Apply Geotechnical, Hydrological, and Topographical information.
    • Select materials and components based on technical and commercial characteristics.
    • Generate SANS 1200 BOQ's from designs.
    • Estimate costs and write technical clarifications for tenders.
    • Multitask and manage multiple projects at various stages.
    • Interact with client engineering teams professionally.
    • Manage engineering teams or consultants effectively.
    • Travel to project sites as required.

    Required Qualification and Knowledge:

    • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering.
    • Registered with the Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA).
    • Minimum 5 years' experience in a similar role.
    • Experience designing Solar PV plants, Substations, and Overhead Lines is desired.
    • Practical site experience of construction sites, particularly Solar PV plants and Substations, is preferred.
    • Familiarity with applicable Standards and Specifications is essential.
    • Experience working with Eskom is beneficial.
    • Proficient in software design packages like Prokon and draughting packages such as AUTOCAD and MicroStation.
    • Knowledge of FIDIC and other Engineering & Construction contracts.
    • Excellent English language skills (written and spoken).
    • Able to generate detailed bills of quantities (BoQ).
