    Description

    Main Purpose: As the CEO, you will provide strategic vision and leadership to optimize our organisation's operations, ensuring cost-effective and efficient pathology and laboratory health services for the South African public health sector. This role involves growing and maintaining the organisation with excellence, vision, and insight to meet Board and employee expectations.

    Key Responsibilities:

    1. Strategy Development: Collaborate with the Board to define the organisation's vision. Develop strategies aligned with the vision, including annual plans for approval. Determine supporting structures and culture to achieve the organisation's mission.
    2. General Management: Promote a culture reflecting our values, encouraging good governance and high performance. Recruit top talent to fill key roles, fostering a people-centric organisation focused on strategic priorities.
    3. Stakeholder Engagement: Gain and maintain stakeholder support for the benefit of the organisation. Act as the spokesperson and representative, ensuring a positive image and advocating for our principles and values.
    4. People Development: Effectively manage, coach, and nurture human capital development. Translate and interpret the organisation's vision and objectives through communication. Institute a culture of measuring and managing performance, rewarding contribution.
    5. Financial Management: Efficiently manage all financial aspects, overseeing budgeting, management, and reporting. Develop annual budgets supporting operational plans and manage resources within guidelines.

    Minimum Requirements:

    1. Pathology/public health medicine specialist qualification registered with the HPCSA and 10 years of executive-level experience in a laboratory or health environment.
    2. OR PhD in Medical Scientist/Medicine/Nursing/Pharmacy, registered with HPCSA, SANC, or Pharmacy Council, with 12 years of management experience, preferably in a laboratory or health environment.
    3. OR Equivalent postgraduate business qualification (e.g., CA(SA), MBA) and 12 years of experience in related businesses with extensive executive experience, preferably in a laboratory or health environment.
