  • We're looking for an Equity and Cross Asset Advisory Distribution Salesperson to:
  • Provide cross-asset advisory sales, creative solutions and risk-reward advice to investors who trade in these asset classes via a variety of channels
  • Provide wholistic client account management across product suite with proactive management of account resources. Maximise cross selling opportunities across accounts
  • Ability to prepare and distribute marketing, reports and other materials for clients covering investment ideas, account services and UBS product capabilities
  • Provide clients with constructive market information, market commentary and analysis based on sales and trading research. Ability to engage across client spectrum including analysts, PMs, traders, CIOs, and operations teams is vital
  • Be able to generate trade ideas and actionable solutions based on client requests, market trends, quantitative analysis, UBS research and trading desk inventory. In addition, need to be able to contribute meaningfully to "AlphaCapture" initiatives
  • Manage risk, compliance, and governance: thorough understanding of governance and regulatory framework with respect to sales and trading conduct as well as market and operational risks
  • Drive the creation and implementation of sales and marketing strategies aimed at enlarging our client footprint and increasing associated revenue, with a particular focus on the South African market
  • Collaborate with senior management and colleagues to develop a robust marketing plan, delineating clear priorities, market penetration goals, and revenue objectives
  • Utilise your extensive network to comprehend client needs, introduce our services, and persuade clients to adopt our offerings to bolster both satisfaction and revenue
  • Assist in the management of the documentation and onboarding process for new accounts and clients
  • Manage and coordinate the setup of analyst roadshows, assuring efficient communication and meticulous logistics planning
  • Engagement with corporate clients to build corporate access solutions and facilitate local and global roadshows
  • Lead the promotion of global research within the South African market, crafting strategic approaches for selling this valuable resource to our clientele
  • Provide strategic advice on positioning and transaction closure, partnering with internal stakeholders across structuring, trading, legal, credit, and risk teams
  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with fellow salespeople to leverage our franchise and source relevant trading opportunities for our clients
  • Uphold rigorous governance and controls in collaboration with control functions such as Legal, Compliance, Market and Credit Risk, Audit, and Finance
  • Initiate, develop, and sustain relationships with institutional clients and prospects
  • Share market intelligence, updates, and foster the creation of ideas during team meetings
  • Work closely with Research and Global Markets teams to generate thematic trade ideas and content and promote our services to enhance sales efforts
  • Expertise to drive our technology strategy and adopt key tools to enable more efficient and effective client interactions

Your expertise
- a minimum of 6-10 years of relevant experience in a client-facing role with either buy-side or sell-side experience.
- proven sales track record within a financial services organisation.
- exceptional interpersonal, problem-solving, and negotiation skills.
- robust written and verbal communication skills.
- broad client relationships preferred.
- strong attention to detail and desire to work in team-oriented and collaborative environment
- strong drive to expand the institutional advisory sales business
- excellent knowledge of financial markets, instruments and strategies
