    Economist/Socio-Economic Researcher Wanted

    We are seeking a highly skilled economist/socio-economic researcher to conduct a comprehensive study on the socio-economic impact of the gambling industry in South Africa. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in economics, development studies or a related field, and significant experience in conducting primary and secondary research.

    About the Role:

    The successful candidate will be responsible for assessing the socio-economic implications of the gambling industry on various population groups and geographical areas. This will involve collecting and analyzing data, identifying trends and patterns, and presenting findings in a clear and concise manner.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • To conduct primary and secondary research on the socio-economic impact of the gambling industry.
    • To collect and analyze data from various sources, including government reports, academic studies and industry publications.
    • To identify trends and patterns in the data and present findings in a clear and concise manner.

    Requirements:

    • A minimum Honours Degree in Economics/Development Studies or a related field.
    • At least 3 years' experience in economic or research-related environments.
    • Strong knowledge of MS Office Suite and report writing skills.
    • Ability to work independently with a sense of urgency.
