Service Advisor in Motor Industry
This position is for an experienced Advisor in the motor-trade.

Our busy vehicle parts and service center is hiring a Service Advisor to work one-on-one with our customers and to coordinate with the parts and workshop department for bookings.

Your job will be to advise customers on the available parts and service options when their vehicles need repairs.

We're counting on you to develop extensive product knowledge and to attend all our customers with a friendly smile and honest guidance.

We offer in-house training and support as well as competitive compensation.


Responsibilities
Greet customers when they arrive at the parts and service center and direct their inquiry to the relevant department.


Responsible for the vehicle booking procedure, including quotes, job cards, documentation & document control, parts, billing and customer communication and follow-up.

Consult with mechanics about necessary repairs and possible alternatives.

Request and process the parts list from the mechanic.

Check with parts department for availability, ordering, costing and collect.

Provide customers with in-depth information about available aftermarket and OEM (original equipment manufacturer) part options.

Answer questions about service outcome (after consulting with mechanic if necessary)

Manage and oversee the service center's workflow and scheduling


Call customers to inform them of changes in service or to let them know their vehicle is ready for collection.

Ensure that customers sign disclaimers, quotations and do payment before collection of vehicles.

Report all comebacks to workshop manager and parts department immediately.

Other duties will include, day-to-day administration of the front office, reporting etc.


Essential requirements:

High school diploma

5+ years' service advisor experience

(Basic Automotive fundamentals, Customer Care, Post Service Follow-up, Complaint resolution)

Knowledge of automotive industry and parts will be an advantage

Proficient computer skills

Ability to troubleshoot minor network issues


Skills:

Language skills - verbal and written. (English)

Excellent communication and organizational skills.

Ability to communicate equally well with mechanics, customers and senior management.


Salary:
From R8,500.00 per month


Ability to commute/relocate:

  • East London,

Eastern Cape:
Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (preferred)


Experience:

Motor Industry: 5 years (required)


Language:


  • Proficient in English/Afrikaans and other (required)
