- Supervise and manage a Fundraiser ensuring fundraising targets are met and resources are allocated effectively.
- Oversee the smooth running of operations ensuring alignment with the organisation's mission and vision.
- Evaluate the efficiency and effectiveness of business processes and systems to identify areas for improvement.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholder groups including donors partners and community members.
- Establish a realistic balanced annual budget ensuring financial sustainability and resource allocation.
- Monitor grant funding ensuring transparency and compliance with donor expectations and regulatory requirements.
- Monitor financial performance and take corrective action as needed to maintain financial stability.
- Implement tight financial control measures and ensure sound financial processes and practices are in place compliant with legislative requirements.
- Provide quarterly financial reports to the Board to ensure transparency and accountability.
- Oversee the annual audit and the sign-off of financials within the required timeframe to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Manage memberships and Annual General Meetings to engage stakeholders and promote the organisation's mission.
- Ensure legislative compliance including but not limited to company law animal welfare regulations health and safety standards BEE and Employment Equity legislation and employment legislation.
- Monitor compliance with regulations specific to non-profit organisations and animal care standards to prevent non-compliance and reputational risk.
- Identify risks and develop mitigation strategies particularly in the areas of animal care and public engagement to protect the organisation and its stakeholders.
- Lead by example fostering a culture of compassion continuous improvement and teamwork to inspire and motivate the Team.
- Structure and develop the workforce to meet current and future organisational needs through effective recruitment and talent management.
- Establish clear roles and responsibilities and enforce policies and procedures to ensure accountability and efficiency.
- Foster a positive inclusive working environment that supports the mission and values of the NGO to promote job satisfaction and well-being.
- Drive performance and take corrective action in cases of transgressions or poor performance to maintain high standards and achieve goals.
