    Job Purpose:

    The Deli Manager will oversee the daily operations of the deli department, managing staff, ensuring product quality, and providing excellent customer service.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Team Leadership

      • Recruit, train, and supervise deli staff, ensuring a high-performing team.
      • Schedule shifts and manage staff to ensure efficient deli operations.
      • Provide ongoing coaching and development to staff, fostering a positive work environment.
    • Product Management

      • Oversee the preparation and presentation of deli products, ensuring freshness, quality, and appeal.
      • Manage inventory levels, placing orders, and ensuring stock is rotated to minimize waste.
      • Develop and implement merchandising strategies to promote deli products and maximize sales.
    • Customer Service

      • Ensure all customers receive prompt, friendly, and knowledgeable service.
      • Address customer inquiries and complaints professionally, ensuring customer satisfaction.
      • Create and maintain a welcoming and attractive deli counter that encourages repeat business.
    • Operational Efficiency

      • Ensure the deli operates smoothly, meeting all health, safety, and hygiene standards.
      • Monitor and manage department budgets, controlling costs and maximizing profitability.
      • Maintain accurate records of sales, inventory, and staff schedules.
    • Compliance and Safety

      • Ensure compliance with all food safety regulations and company policies.
      • Conduct regular health and safety inspections, ensuring a clean and safe working environment.
      • Train staff on proper food handling, safety procedures, and hygiene standards.

    1. Sales Growth

      • Achieve and exceed sales targets for the deli department.
      • Implement promotional activities and specials to drive sales and attract customers.
    2. Staff Development

      • Build and maintain a skilled, motivated, and customer-focused team.
      • Ensure ongoing staff training and development to enhance service and product knowledge.
    3. Customer Satisfaction

      • Maintain high levels of customer satisfaction through quality products and excellent service.
      • Address and resolve customer issues quickly and effectively.
    4. Operational Excellence

      • Ensure the deli operates efficiently, with minimal downtime or disruptions.
      • Optimize inventory levels and reduce waste through effective stock management.

    Qualifications and Experience:

    • Proven experience as a Deli Manager or in a similar role within the retail or food industry.
    • Strong knowledge of deli operations, food preparation, and food safety standards.
    • Experience in managing, training, and developing a team.
    • Proficient in inventory management, merchandising, and financial management.
    • Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
