    About the Role

    We are seeking an experienced Pharmaceutical Sales Manager to maximize sales and market share in South Africa. The successful candidate will drive sales activity and provide leadership to the sales team.

    Responsibilities

    1. Translate brand strategies into sales plans, analyzing performance and identifying key areas for improvement.
    2. Keep the business unit informed of market changes and competitor activity, ensuring seamless strategy implementation and development.
    3. Ensure execution of marketing/commercial tactics through territory plans (Plans of Action) with team members.
    4. Manage approved budgets, allocating resources to meet plans and maintain financial control.
    5. Plan, allocate, and monitor sales team expenses budget to ensure budgetary control.
    6. Track progress of marketing messages and programs, monitoring implementation and ensuring spend within agreed parameters.
    7. Monitor, evaluate, and act on sales field force metrics and standards to maximize sales force effectiveness.
    8. Build and develop a high-performing sales team, recruiting and selecting candidates, coaching, motivating, and conducting performance reviews.
    9. Foster a culture of ownership and accountability, ensuring data-driven decision making and supporting team members on external customer visits.

    Requirements

    • Selling and coaching methodology expertise.
    • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
    • Strong leadership and people management skills.
    • Analytical skills and strategic thinking.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Excel, Power BI, and Repwise or Veeva.
    • Relevant pharmaceutical market knowledge.
    • Customer and patient orientation, science-based, marketing-minded, negotiation, and selling skills.
    • Operational excellence, management skills, planning, prioritization, decision making, objective setting, meeting management, and plan execution.
    • Fluency in English, both oral and written communications.
