  • 3 MONTH FIXED TERM CONTRACT Job Purpose:
  • To assist Senior Buyers/Procurement Officers with the procurement and ordering of quality items/products at the best price for the Company to ensure optimal customer satisfaction and sustainable growth of the Company
  • Procurement of Product/Items:
  • Receive direct requests from client/customer or Senior Buyer/Procurement Officer and ensure proper understanding of the client/customers needs and requirements.
  • Source the right supplier and request 3 quotations from possible suppliers.
  • Select approved supplier to purchase products/items from to ensure best quality and cost.
  • Negotiate with approved suppliers the purchase price of products to ensure procurement of products at the best price when necessary.
  • Provide the client/customer Senior Buyer/Procurement Officer with a formal quotation from the supplier.
  • Follow up with client/customer or Senior Buyer/Procurement Officer to purchase product/item.
  • Confirm order with client/customer or Senior Buyer/Procurement Officer.
  • Place orders with the approved supplier by following the prescribed procedure and completing of a purchase order.
  • Confirm order with supplier to expedite the delivery to the Company
  • Hand the order over to Logistics.
  • Inform the client/customer or Senior Buyer/Procurement Officer when the order is in store.
  • Manage stakeholder relations with suppliers to ensure the sustainability of relationships as well as credibility between managers, peers, team members, customers and suppliers
  • Compliance:
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations, legislation, quality standards, policies and standard operating procedures and protocol to ensure that all procurement processes and projects are executed and completed in the prescribed manner.
  • Ensure confidentiality of information is maintained at all times
    Inherent Requirements
  • Minimum Qualifications and Experience:


  • Grade 1

  • Diploma in purchasing or procurement
  • 5 years working experience within a procurement/buying environment preferably in the mining industry or related
  • Key Knowledge and Skills:
  • In-depth knowledge of the followin
