More Community Foundation* (MCF) is a non-profit organisation and the Foundation for the MORE Family Collection group, supporting social development and environmental conservation in Southern Africa.

All community projects for social development are self-sustainable, as it is our belief that by supporting communities to contribute their own efforts and skills, projects are kept alive into the future.

Socially inclusive conservation is critical to biological diversity and MCF strives to achieve community collaboration and custodianship within all conservation projects.

To drive and develop the organisation's sustainability performance, practices, compliance and monitoring and evaluation.


KEY FOCUS AREAS

  • Drive and develop new, innovative sustainability concepts.
  • Scan and research new development trends in the market and interpret and communicate clearly.
  • Engage Leadership on Group sustainability initiatives.
  • Establish the annual sustainability Plan, including operational and capital budgets for the Tourism Group and the Foundation.
  • Allocate funds and authorizing expenditures in line with the Company's budget, goal and objectives.
  • Develop and maintain quantitative, accurate data management structures and protocols including a monitoring and evaluation plan and subsequent
reporting.

  • Ensure adherence to all laws and legal requirements as well as sustainable ethical requirements.
  • Work with the MCF General Manager, MFC Operations Manager, Property General Managers and property sustainability champions.
  • Support, lead and manage property sustainability champions.
  • Ensure that all operational departments are maximising sustainable resource management criteria and opportunities, adhering to Group sustainability
standards.

  • Leverage resources to incorporate best sustainability practices.
  • Maintain knowledge on standards, new information and practices, scan for trends.
  • Develop collateral and communicate with multiple stakeholders.
  • Coordinate with multiple internal department and external marketing team.
  • Create, manage and run training programs for different stakeholders.
  • Monitoring and evaluation, research and report writing.
  • Manage any sustainability accreditation processes.
  • Create, build and maintain relationships property stake holders and sustainability networks.
  • Undertake regular site visits to properties and projects.
REQUIREMENTS - QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

Degree or qualification and experience with Sustainability management, environmental sciences or resource management (essential)

Minimum 5 years' experience in a similar position (preferred)

Previous experience in a 4/5-star Lodge.

Must have a passion for sustainability, conservation, natural resource management.

Sustainability and hospitality experience (preferred)

Project management experience (preferred)

Experience with carbon-footprint analysis (preferred)

Experience with monitoring and evaluation, high-level reporting.

Dataliterate individual with excellent data management skills.

Willing to travel to various lodges, projects and properties.

An individual with charisma and personal passion for sustainability and natural resource management.

Extroverted and positive individual.

Strong communication skills.

Creative and Strategic thinking.

Comfortable with self-management and substantial traveling.

MS Office Suite


Salary:
Up to R480,000.00 per year
