This role is eligible for the Corporate Office Dual Workplace Arrangement. This new way of work introduces a hybrid working model for our client.

Eligible employees will be required to be in the office (Stellenbosch) for two scheduled days a week and the other three days will be worked from home.


MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB


This person, in conjunction with the Health Informatics team, is responsible for assuring the successful utilization of information technology, primarily the EHR-system, to optimize ICU patient care delivery in collaboration with nurses, doctors and other clinical staff.


KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREAS

  • Manage the configuration, planning and implementation of the digital health systems (incl. EHR) and processes, within the ICU domain, throughout the division
  • Ensure effective configuration, utilization and optimization of ICU digital health systems (incl. EHR)
  • Ensure compliance to legal and regulatory requirements
  • Build and maintain effective stakeholder relationships

REQUIRED EDUCATION

ESSENTIAL EDUCATION

  • Registered/Professional Nursing qualification
  • Nursing specialist qualification in ICU

DESIRED EDUCATION

  • Postgraduate degree/ qualification in health informatics

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

ESSENTIAL MINIMUM EXPERIENCE

  • More than 5 years' clinical experience in ICU

DESIRED EXPERIENCE

  • Informatics experience with clinical information system implementation, support and optimization
  • Experience working on and/or implementing Electronic Health Record (EHR) / Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems
years managerial and/or training experience in clinical environment

  • Work experience in the South African private healthcare sector
  • Experience in healthcare management

  • Data governance, standards and regulations affecting the practice of nursing
