  • Main Purpose of the Job**:
  • To identify, evaluate and realise New Business opportunities which meets the Business strategic filters, and supports the Business Strategy for the region (Southern Africa), country and/ or service offering
  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Growth Plan:
  • Identify and evaluate potential business opportunities by analysis of market strategies, deal requirements, financial potential and internal priorities.
  • Follow through on new business opportunities, whilst progressing the opportunity to the next phase through interaction with key decision makers both internally and externally.
  • Document all key decisions taken on each new business opportunity to assist and track to realization.
  • Develop the high level business growth plan.
  • Using knowledge of the market and competitors, identify and develop the company's unique selling propositions and differentiators, to enable the approach to current and prospective clients.
  • Assess the financial viability/ risk of a potential client.
  • Based on the business growth plan agreed develop the sales execution plan.
  • New Business Plan:
  • Develop and implement a NBD Business Strategy, in alignment with the Company's Strategy and Group Development Strategy
  • Coordinate activities to ensure the annual business development plan can be fulfilled.
  • Review and adjust performance to ensure the sales can be met.
  • Implement the business development database that includes client and prospect information, proposal tracking and follow up, analysis of competition and performance metrics.
  • Submit accurate and timely forecasts.
  • Close new business deals by coordinating requirements with relevant executive(s), developing and negotiating contracts, whilst ensuring that contract requirements are aligned with business operations.
  • Securing and working on tender and longterm quotes that meet client requirements
  • Commercial and Contracts:
  • Guidelines on contract profitability framework must be maintained.
  • Develop negotiating strategy for each potential client needs and through understanding; examining risks and potential; estimating company.
  • Ensure that Contract requirements are aligned to business operations for potential new clients
  • Ensures that new contracts developed are legally compliant
  • Client Relations:
  • Cultivate strategic relationships with potential clients, and business partners.
  • Regular meetings with clients at their locations to identify potential needs followed by a report sharing salient matters discussed.
  • Identify continuous value adding services for each new client
  • Securing repeat business from current client base
  • Arrange and participate in internal and external client debriefs
  • Marketing:
  • Develop and utilize marketing related events, seminars, mailings and call campaigns to increase company awareness and presence in the local and international market.
  • Identify and attend tradeshows and other business functions to keep abreast of developments in the marketplace, and identify and target potential new business.
  • To market company's endtoend solutions.
  • Plans and prepares presentations for potential clients and tradeshows, etc
  • Health, Safety and QMS:
  • Ensure QMS requirements are integrated into the department's business processes.
  • Implement continuous Improvement of business processes.
  • Ensure that all Health and Safety protocols, including those for Covid19 are implemented and followed.
  • General/Admin:
  • Keep abreast of industry, and macro and micro trends that affect the Business opportunities.
  • Undertake domestic and international travel to service industry partners and for other business development opportunities as required.
  • Assists in the development of the annual budget and ensure all expenses are managed.
  • General management reporting as required

  • Qualifications, skills & attributes:
  • Bachelor's degree in commerce with Marketing or General Management
  • 57 years working experience in a relative role.
