Description

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Research, design and develop new speciality chemicals for the pulp and paper industry
  • Reformulate products in current range to optimize existing products
  • Prepare Product Technical Data Sheet and MSDS
  • Investigate non conformances
  • Commission new products on manufacturing plants
  • Launch/update product, raw material, technical and manufacturing data in databases

The Individual

  • Higher National diploma / BSc(Honours)
  • Major in Chemistry (essential)


  • MSc

  • Major in Organic Chemistry (advantage)
  • Minimum 5 years' working knowledge and experience in a chemical manufacturing plant.
  • Application knowledge in a research and development environment
  • Experience in Chemical Formulary
  • Experience in dangerous goods handling
  • Proficient in MS Office, Syspro, Achiever, LIMS and QDocs
