Our client is seeking to appoint a Manager: Security, Tactical & Surveillance, responsible for overseeing all tactical security operations and surveillance within the business.

Security personnel will be under your management responsibility, while you develop and implement policies and procedures to maintain the highest of security standards.

This specialist covers those activities related to establishing a social and physical environment wherein people may feel free, and thereby, contribute to the quality and excellence of our clients diverse businesses


This includes:

the protection of life and property, preservation of peace and good order in the community, enforcement of laws and regulations, emergency management, planning, facility and data security, personnel clearances, and community outreach.


Position Purpose:


  • As Manager: Security, Tactical & Surveillance, we require an experienced surveillance investigator to monitor and provide tactical security and surveillance, by conducting research to identify new security threats and develop new security technologies;
  • Perform onsite and remove monitoring, draft reports, make recommendations to relevant persons, and utilize several kinds of surveillance equipment;
  • Manages safety and security programs and related activities, ensuring compliance with policies, directives and procedures.

Surveillance Responsibilities:


  • To ensure success as a surveillance investigator, you should be highly skilled at convert surveillance, investigating and developing intelligence reports, with several years of experience in law enforcement and security;
  • Develop and direct organisational safety and security strategy;
  • Oversee the implementation of efforts to minimize loss;
  • Enhance security and business opportunity through the control of risk;
  • Above average knowledge of monitoring hardware and software in the industry; Utilising surveillance equipment to monitor and observe;
  • Developing operational plans for implementing surveillance operations, including selecting locations and equipment;
  • Tracing and tracking persons of interest for video surveillance; Researching people of interest and their behaviours;
  • Training staff on how to use surveillance equipment and employing skills and tactics to remain undetected, developing a team of individuals with diverse skillsets who work well together as a unit;
  • Maintaining records of all equipment purchases and operational costs to ensure efficient use of resources.

Financial Management:


  • Develop the budget by identifying activities and costs, preparing the budget and submitting it annually and as required;
  • Manage expenditure by tracking spend against budget allocations, approving expenditure, address any budget variances and provide feedback monthly and as required.

Governance:


  • Participate at management level, by preparing reports, presenting reports, answering queries and implementing decisions as required;
  • Manage the development and implementation of policies and procedures by reviewing policies, identifying policy gaps, drafting policies and managing implementation of policies annually and as required;
  • Monitor compliance with policies and procedures, identify areas of noncompliance, address noncompliance and track improvements as required;
  • Monitor legislative and regulatory changes by reviewing the landscape, identifying changes, analysing and interpreting the impact of the changes, integrating changes into the policies and procedures and communicating these changes as required.

Communications Portfolio:


  • Set the strategic direction and monitor the execution of internal and external communications, and ensure that brand standards and compliance in communications is adhered to;
  • Ensure that potential areas of crisis or issues are identified and oversee the implementation of the crisis / issues management plan;

Staff Leadership and Management:


  • Define the staff requirements by reviewing the workload, defining work allocations and developing job profiles as required;
  • Resource the team by retaining, recruiting, selecting and appointing staff as required;
  • Induct staff members by managing the development of an induction programme, monitoring performance and supporting the development of new staff members as required;
  • Manage the performance of staff by agreeing on performance expectations, building relationships with staff, motivating staff, providing staff with feedback, supporting staff development, addressing areas of nonperformance and implementing corrective action monthly and as required;
  • Develop staff members by consulting with staff to identify learning areas and paths, supporting the development of the staff member, coaching and mentoring and tracking impact of learning monthly and as required;
  • Manage the implementation of HR policies and procedures by tracking compliance, identifying areas of concern and implementing corrective action as required.
