Job Overview:

The Senior Supply Chain Manager manages the procurement, thirrd party manufacturing factories and suppliers, third larty logistics on time in full.

The Senior Supply Chain Manager is responsible for the forecasting of purchases based on various sources of data including; historical sales volumes and current quotations volumes.

Purchases are managed to ensure product availability meets customer demand minimising any delays or losses from aged stock.

Excellent external communication skills and an understanding of Chinese business culture are essential.

The negotiation of pricing and trading terms along with the resolution of product and supply issues are key parts of these external supplier relations.

Excellent internal communications between finance, sales and engineering teams are essential to coordinate the funding, supply and release of new products.

The role sits at the centre of these departments and their needs.


Core Responsibilities:

• Review or update supply chain practices in accordance with new or changing environmental policies, standards, regulations, or laws
• Select transportation routes to maximize economy by combining shipments or consolidating warehousing and distribution
• Appraise vendor manufacturing ability
• Negotiate prices and terms with suppliers, vendors, or freight forwarders
• Implement new or improved supply chain processes
• Collaborate with key departments
• Sales, Product, Finance, and Sales Support
• Ensure Supply Chain Assistants meet KPI deliverables
• Practice industry best Inventory Management; including regular forecasting, identifying aging stock, and maintaining buffer stock levels

Day to Day Tasks:

• Generate weekly priorities list: Purchase Requisition
• Ensure that supply chain assistants meet their KPIs
• Manage supply chain KPIs
• Manage purchase requisition for product samples requested by the Product team
• Be the Subject Matter Expert with regards to Supply Chain System and process improvements
• Ensure that communication channels between supply chain stakeholders are effective and efficient
• Manage the negotiation of production, freight, and warehousing costs
• Manage the relationships and contracts with all third parties involved in the supply chain
• Oversee all resource management within the supply chain
• Ensure that the product and supplier databases are properly managed
• Ensure Supply Chain finance requirements are efficiently managed and transparent
• Complete ad hoc tasks as deemed necessary.

Reporting Structure:

Reporting directly to the COO.


Experience and Skills:

• Degree in Engineering, Finance or Accounting, or any related field.
• Experience in manufacturing in a leadership role.
• Significant work experience in Supply Chain Management, Analyst, Logistics Coordinator or another similar role.
• Proven experience in data mining, analysis, and reporting.
• Familiarity with safety and procedural best practices in SCM.
• Ability to train, lead, and mentor employees
• Proficient understanding of all levels of the supply chain processes (e.g. inventory planning and management, procurement, logistics).
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Google Suite, relational databases, and ERP systems (e.g. DEAR, SAP Cin7).
• Analytical mindset coupled with a strong business acumen
• Aptitude for problem solving and troubleshooting
• Excellent attention to detail
• Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal
• Outstanding organizational and management skills
• Ability to work in a diverse environment, multitask and work under pressure
• Advanced spreadsheet modelling and forecasting skills
• Ability to work under pressure in a highpaced environment

Salary:
R55, R64,322.00 per month
