WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Quality

Implementation and maintenance of Quality Management systems in line with ISO/DIN/NATO Requirements
Puts in place quality management systems documentation to ensure that exceptions, slippage and issues of priority are effectively managed and that extra activities are initiated wherever gaps in the system are identified
Ensure that coordination and management of the qualityrelated activities for development projects and programs in with business requirements
Monitor internal and external supplier performance
Standardization and optimization of inspection and testing facilities/activities to support the business plan
Management of inhouse and outsourced control of inspection, measuring and testing equipment/ instrumentation in line with budget
Implement corporate training strategy to employees as applicable to the needs of the plant
Implementation of program encompassing principles of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement
Process qualification of all manufacturing processes
Ensure product Quality requirements are captured in all quoting and contracting processes
Lead on all customer related product quality matters
Monitor and control site rework and scrap metrics with clear strategies to constantly improve
Continuous bench marking, standardization and improvements on all test methods and test facilities

Personnel Development and HR responsibility

Manage allocated resources to effectively deliver a quality service in all areas
Establish a plan for development and growth of personnel aligned to department succession plan

Compliance

Custodian of all systems, processes and procedures governing product quality
Explosives Act, Occupational Health & Safety and environmental policies and procedures in all areas

Financial

Department OPEX Budget management
CAPEX planning for all Test Facilities

WHAT QUALIFICATIONS YOU SHOULD HAVE

Minimum BSc / BEng Engineering Degree in Chemical/Mechanical Engineering.
Qualifications in Quality Management and or General Management/Leadership will be advantageous.
At least 5 years' Quality experience in a manufacturing environment; of which 3 years should have been in a Leadership role.
Firm grasp of Quality Management best practices.
Technical competencies primarily in the field of ISO 9001, 14001 and 4500
Technical competencies in engineering fields (Chemical/Mechanical/Industrial).
Strategic Management skills.
Occupational safety, health and environment awareness.
Performance management skills.
Management & leadership skills.
Good communication and reporting skills.
