Job Title: Stoma and Continence Nurse Educator

Cape Town, Western Cape

We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our team in South Africa as a Stoma Care and Continence Nurse.

This individual will provide clinical expertise through education and training for self-intermittent catheterisation, pre-and post-operative management of ostomates as well as managing relationships with referring doctors to establish confidence in the Coloplast Value Proposition and the Clinical Team.

Main Responsibilities

1. Maintain professional credentials and education to maintain status as a clinical expert through board certification as a nurse.
2. Act as a clinical liaison to ostomates regarding planned surgical procedures, the impact of living with a stoma, and ostomy care.
3. Train patients on the technique of self-intermittent catheterisation according to the referral of a healthcare professional.
4. Provide referring specialists or healthcare professionals with feedback regarding the progress of patients referred.
5. Conduct clinical health checks to drive compliance with treatment plans and protocols prescribed.
6. Maintain accurate patient records and submit them according to Coloplast systems.
7. Establish new clinics for follow-up visits for end users.
8. Deliver education programs to diverse groups of internal and external customers and end users.
9. Represent Coloplast at approved national and regional conferences and tradeshows.
10. Report key clinical learnings and opportunities to senior leadership.

Requirements

1. Registered Nurse with a bachelor's degree.
2. At least 2 years' experience in a clinical setting working with patients and/or end users.
3. Previous medical industry experience is an asset.
4. Domestic travel is required.
5. The successful candidate must reside in the greater Cape Town area.
