Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Payroll Manager to join our team at a mining client based in Limpopo. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the planning and execution of payroll processes and systems, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.

Main Responsibilities

• Payroll Management: Manage and control payroll functions, including remuneration and related policies.
• Regulatory Compliance: Ensure payroll complies with statutory regulations, company policies, and management instructions.
• Verification and Risk Management: Verify payroll information for accuracy and completeness, identify risks, and implement actions to mitigate or eliminate them.
• Reporting and Record Keeping: Generate and follow-up on monthly/quarterly reports, maintain employee files through efficient record keeping, and comply with governance requirements.
• Escalation and Resolution: Investigate and close escalated issues, escalate any issues to relevant stakeholders, and generate and post general journals and reconcile third-party payments.

Requirements

• Education: Relevant degree or diploma equivalent.
• Experience: Minimum 5-8 years of senior-level payroll experience, preferably within the mining sector.
• Technical Skills: Thorough knowledge of VIP Payroll system and current tax legislation applicable to remuneration practices.
