The Team:
Managed Services


The Managed Services team in Randburg is responsible for system integration and system testing of the various software components that allow MultiChoice to offer its services to consumers.

To that end we're looking to hire for the role of Project Manager.


The Role:
Project Manager


This role serves a dual purpose: enable, drive, and monitor various projects and perform the role of Scrum Master to support the development team in their Agile Processes.


Your primary focus will be to support the development team in their sprint activities and managing their contribution to the various projects emanating from our customer.

You will bridge timelines between the Managed Services team and back-end product teams, ensuring we meet customer timelines.

You will serve as a liaison between technical and business departments; communicate with other management, developers, product managers, and technical support specialists, on product issues.

Additionally, you will support the rest of the Headend Managed Services team as the project manager for any inter
- and intra-company projects, which could typically take the form of new system integrations, or new system or service rollouts, or capital equipment expansion projects.


You will also be the Agile Expert & Champion in the department, coaching the other leaders and teams on how best to adopt agile methodologies in their day-to-day work, facilitating their scrum ceremonies where necessary to foster a more collaborative and developmentally-focussed environment.


Your mission at Irdeto:


  • Determine and define project scope and objectives.
  • Coordinating and chairing of weekly project meetings.
  • Provide project updates on a consistent basis to various stakeholders.
  • Monitoring of project deliverables and taking corrective actions.
  • Managing project risks and issues.
  • Develop and manage a detailed project schedule and work plan.
  • Escalate issues to project sponsors / technical leads.
  • Lead the scrum team in using Agile methodology and scrum practices.
  • Organize and facilitate scrum ceremonies: daily scrum, sprint planning, retrospective, handover, and demo meetings.
  • Track and communicate sprint/release progress.
  • Measure project performance to identify areas for improvement.
  • Help the product owner and scrum team to achieve customer satisfaction.
  • Lead the development and operational teams in selforganization.
  • Remove impediments and coach the development team on removing impediments.
  • Help the scrum and development teams to identify and fill in blanks in the Agile framework.
  • Facilitate discussion and conflict resolution.
  • Coach the teams to achieve their highest potential.
  • Support the product owner and provide education where needed.
  • Assist as needed with backlog grooming and prioritization.
  • Participate proactively in developing and maintaining team standards, tools, and best practice.
  • Support the teams and advocate for them when needed.
  • Support new and existing customers for delivery and installation of Irdeto products and system upgrades.
  • Build and maintain strong positive relationships with key stakeholders in the Irdeto Sales, Professional Services, and Technical Marketing Units and with Irdeto external customers, prospects, and partners.
  • Work together with Irdeto Marketing Units, Professional Services, Sales, and Legal to drive refining of customer requirements for new Irdeto products/solutions and customer segments.

Knowledge and Skills we hope you bring:

  • A Bachelor's Degree, Technical Diploma or equivalent experience.
  • Project Management certification.
  • Scrum Master certification.
  • Strong decisionmaking skills with the ability to understand relative priorities, impact, and risk to ensure
