    Description

    Area Sales Manager

    A high-performing and people-focused Area Sales Manager is required to lead and grow our regional branch network in the Retail/Butchery industry.

    This role is perfect for a strategic leader who understands retail, thrives in a high-performance environment, and knows how to get the best out of people and processes.

    The Role in Action:

    • Drive sustainable sales growth, improve profitability, and ensure all stores operate with excellence
    • Lead and mentor store managers across the region
    • Oversee sales performance, budgets, and profitability targets
    • Implement pricing, promotions, and marketing strategies
    • Ensure high standards of meat cutting, display, and hygiene
    • Support stock management, purchasing, and cost control
    • Ensure compliance with food safety, health & safety, and branding requirements
    • Work closely with HR on staffing, performance, and training
    • Foster collaboration and a strong team culture across stores
    • Attend bi-weekly sales meetings and report on key metrics
    • Identify new growth opportunities and present these to Exco

    We're Looking for Someone Who:

    • Has 5+ years' experience in store or area management (preferably in food retail)
    • B-Tech or diploma in retail management or equivalent is advantageous
    • Understands retail business practices, including financial reporting
    • Is a hands-on leader with excellent communication and people skills
    • Has a strong grasp of stock control, compliance, and operational excellence
    • Is organised, self-motivated, and able to manage multiple stores
    • Works well under pressure and handles challenges with confidence
    • Is computer literate and comfortable using Microsoft Office
    • Holds a Matric (a Diploma or B-Tech in Retail Management is advantageous)
