Actuary Research & Development | Conservation Strategy

The role supports the Conservation (Retentions) Strategy team by conducting analyses to inform strategies for proactive and reactive client retention. This involves monitoring strategy effectiveness and incorporating feedback into ongoing development.

Key Responsibilities:

• Extract and analyze data to identify trends in distribution, product adoption, lapses, and Vitality engagement.
• Research new fields to contribute to innovative solutions.
• Utilize technical product knowledge to identify business opportunities.
• Motivate and support Conservation (Retentions) initiatives.
• Collaborate with Operations, Systems, Marketing, and Distribution stakeholders.
• Establish and monitor metrics to evaluate strategy effectiveness.

Requirements:

• Matric with Mathematics
• Bachelor's/Honours degree in Actuarial Science from an accredited institution
• Fellow of Actuarial Society of South Africa (or any other recognized actuarial professional body)
• At least 3 years working experience as an Actuarial Analyst within the Insurance Industry

Preferred Qualifications:

• Working experience as an Actuary in the Life Insurance industry

Technical Skills:

• Proficiency in MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, and MS Outlook
• Effective communications skills
• Strong data analysis skills
• Problem solving skills
