De Beers Marine (DBM) is based in Cape Town, South Africa and is part of the De Beers group.
Activities managed include Marine exploration, geophysical surveys, sampling, mining, ship conversion, upgrades and maintenance, large project management, engineering design and mining system equipment builds.
DBM executes industry leading R&D in marine mining practices resulting in the most successful and advanced marine mining equipment and operations globally.
**Job Description- PURPOSE OF THE ROLE**The Learning & Development Officer is responsible for the coordination and implementation of all training programmes by ensuring that the execution of planned training and development interventions are effectively done according to the skills development plans of the various business areas to support business objectives and the broader capability development.
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:
The duties will include the following:
- Consultation with line management to identify the organization's training and development needs
- Source appropriate service providers to ensure quality services
- Manage the costs of any planned programme and work within the planned budget
- Monitor the execution of development interventions as agreed between individuals and their managers
- Coordinate systems to measure, monitor and report on the Company's Training Plan to ensure that Business Unit objectives and goals are met
- Check that qualifications are maintained accurately to ensure that training records are correct
- Ensures the submission of the Workplace Skills Plan and Annual Training Report to the Mining Qualifications Authority and performs the legal responsibility of the Skills Development Facilitator.
- Maintain the qualification catalogue and data integrity
- Monitors the progress of trainees and ensure progress is achieved in the required timeframes
SKILLS & COMPETENCIES:
- The ability to manage a portfolio of projects
- The ability to manage and interface with stakeholders at all levels
- Cross function communication skills
- Attention to detail
- QUALIFICATIONS MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS**:
- Relevant Degree or 3year National Diploma
- Minimum 3 years' experience in Training & Development
- Knowledge of relevant legislation
- Computer Literate (knowledge of SAP PD)
- Consideration will be given to the Company's Employment Equity Policy
