The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in agriculture, holding a Diploma or Degree in this field. A minimum of 6 years' experience on a pasture-based dairy farm is essential for this role. Specifically, the individual should have expertise in pasture management, as well as excellent stockmanship skills.

Being mechanically inclined and having maintenance-oriented skills is advantageous for this position. Additionally, the ability to Artificially Inseminate (AI) animals and being computer literate are crucial requirements. Speaking Zulu or Xhosa is an added advantage.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage pastures to optimize milk production and quality
• Maintain equipment and ensure it is functioning properly
• Ensure the overall health and well-being of the dairy herd
• Artificially inseminate animals as needed
• Monitor and maintain accurate records of milking schedules, animal health, and other relevant data

Requirements:

• Agricultural Diploma or Degree
• At least 6 years' experience on a pasture-based dairy farm
• Experience in pasture management essential
• Great stockmanship
• Being mechanically/maintenance orientated is advantageous
• Proven ability to AI
• Computer literate
• Ability to speak Zulu/Xhosa advantageous
