General Machine Operator -
Maitland, Cape Town -
Approximately R33.00/hour
Packaging Solutions seeks dedicated and versatile General Machine Operators.

As a General Machine Operator, you will play a vital role in our production process by operating various types of machinery and equipment to ensure the efficient and effective manufacturing of packaging materials.

Responsibilities:

Set up, operate, and monitor a variety of machines and equipment used in the production process, such as cutting machines, folding machines, sealing machines, or labelling machines.
Load raw materials onto machines and ensure proper feeding throughout the production process.
Monitor machine operations to ensure smooth workflow and make necessary adjustments to machine settings, speed, and feed rates as required.
Conduct regular quality checks and inspections to verify product specifications and ensure compliance with quality standards.
Troubleshoot and resolve machine malfunctions, perform minor repairs and adjustments, and escalate complex issues to the maintenance team when necessary.
Follow standard operating procedures and safety guidelines to maintain a safe work environment.
Collaborate with the production team to meet production targets and deadlines.
Document production data, including material usage, machine settings, and downtime, accurately and in a timely manner.
Assist in material handling, including loading and unloading materials, as required.
Maintain a clean and organized work area.

Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent qualification.
Previous experience as a machine operator in a manufacturing or packaging environment is preferred.
Familiarity with operating and adjusting different types of machinery and equipment.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and operating manuals.
Basic mechanical aptitude and problemsolving skills.
Attention to detail and ability to perform quality checks to ensure product compliance.
Ability to work in a fastpaced production environment and meet production targets.
Good communication and teamwork skills.
Knowledge of safety protocols and commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.
