Description
Production Manager - Kempton Park

  • Plan and supervise the execution of all work request related to in house fabrication / Welding activities for routine maintenance and minor modifications.
  • Having good knowledge of fabrication processes and principles (Welding, cutting, pressing, gas/plasma cutting works, fit up work etc.).
  • Expertise knowledge in tools required for fabrication and working knowledge of ASME Codes.
  • Solid blueprint interpretation skills and well versed with engineering drawings of mast and substructure, mud tanks, pressure vessels, piping, process &structural.
  • Well versed with sequences of fabrication process for mast and substructure, mud tanks, pressure vessel, skid & structural members
  • Planning and organizing, scheduling and coordinating, checking, examining and recording
  • Plan, supervise and coordinate all activities of fabrication/welding to assigned staff to meet functional objectives.
- nd develop the assigned staff on relevant fabrication/welding skills to enable them to become proficient on the hob and deliver the section objectives.

  • Implement approved section policies, processes, systems, standards and procedures in order to support execution of sections work programs in line with company and international standards.
  • Knowledge of HSE procedures & practices and comply with relevant HSE policies, procedures & controls and applicable legislation and sustainability guidelines in line with international standards and best practices.
  • Supervise the Vendor's fabrication group to ensure that the maintenance activities are performed in compliance with related standards and approved procedures and drawings.
  • Ensure availability of proper equipment, material and consumables for all the activities follow approved methods of statements.
  • Develop and implement appropriate fabrication techniques to ensure accuracy, productivity and level of product standards are met.
  • Supervise dimensional check on fabricated items/assembly to ensure compliance to drawing tolerances and detail requirements.
  • Ensures fabricators are using the approved latest version of drawings all the time.
  • Provide input for preparation of the department budget and assist in implementation of approved budget and work plans to deliver section objectives.

  • Utilize the project execution model to carry out tasks given in accordance to the company policies, procedures, etc.
Communicate, integrate and cooperate with other discipline to achieve the common goals.


Competencies and manning:
Is familiar with Project Execution Model.

  • Utilize his experience in covering all the disciplines (i.e. rotating, static, piping, Valves & E&I)

Work closely with team members within the discipline to ensure the product is in compliance to the project requirements

The Company:
Reports to the Production Manager and/or Director of Operations

  • Work closely with engineering & project team to ensure latest information is captured & complied.
Management and Leadership

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to plan and organize work flow in efficient manner

Qualifications:


QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:

  • Mechanical Engineering Degree / Production Management / Industrial Engineering Qualification

EXPERIENCE:

  • 10 years minimum experience in reviewing vendor documents & managing inspection testing, requirements.
  • Shall have good relevant experience in rig building

SKILLS & COMPETENCIES:

  • Shall have sound technical knowledge in materials, welding, coating/painting, NDE inspection and general
  • Experience in managing fabricators for pressure vessels, piping and structural
  • Excellent communications and interpersonal/leadership skills are essential.
  • Ability to manage the relationship with key stakeholders.
Proven track record of result deliveries in challenging project environments


Salary:
R55, R75,000.00 per month


Ability to commute/relocate:

  • Kempton Park, Gauteng: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (required)
