Education/Experience:

Key performance areas but not limited to the following:

Manage and lead the procurement function consisting of clerical staff (shipping and procurement), buyers and expeditors.
Possess strong motivational, negotiation and people management skills.
Effectively utilize the existing purchasing team and proactively monitor planned delivery dates and expedite, as necessary.
Develop an effective cost reduction strategy across a diverse and globally distributed supply chain.
Ensure close liaison with the Projects team providing regular updates on project deliverables.
Plan and incorporate a strategic purchasing policy, working closely with other Group entities.
Ensure existing Group procurement policies are adhered to.
Collect and gather data on alternative suppliers, working with the Quality Manager where necessary to undertake audits and supplier assessments.
Effective use of the automated procurement systems ensuring invoice payment is effectively controlled and managed.
Carry out performance reviews and set KPI's for the Procurement team.

Skills set, experience and knowledge required:

Must possess a demonstrated ability to work in a team environment, under pressure, manage multiple tasks, and be goal oriented.
Capability to work independently and deliver to agreed deadline with a result driven approach.
Experience in dealing with complexity and managing a high volume of suppliers.
Ability to create a positive stakeholder management and customer focused environment.
Unendorsed Code 8 Drivers License.
Fully computer literate.
Profound skills in negotiation tactics and networking.
Ability to work overtime when required.
Experience working on ERP systems and Vendor Procurement Portals.
