Job Title: HR Administrator (Hospitality Industry)

Department: Human Resources

Reports To: Head of Department / HR Manager

Location: Somerset West

Hybrid Role:3 Days in Office and 2 days Remote

Languages: – English and Afrikaans

Salary: R20,000 – R25,000 per month (depending on experience)

Must have own vehicle and Valid Driver's License

Job Purpose

The HR Administrator is responsible for providing comprehensive administrative and operational support to the Human Resources department. The role ensures the effective implementation of HR processes, compliance with labour legislation, and the smooth coordination of recruitment, performance management, training, and employee relations activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • HR Administration & Employee Support
  • Manage leave and attendance administration, including capturing leave and verifying leave balances.
  • Respond to general staff queries and provide support on routine HR-related matters.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records and HR documentation.
  • Maintain organisational charts and updated employee structure lists.
  • Ensure onboarding and offboarding processes are effectively managed and enforced.

Recruitment & Onboarding

  • Coordinate and administer the recruitment process, including job postings, scheduling interviews, and candidate communication.
  • Facilitate onboarding processes to ensure a smooth integration of new employees.
  • Ensure probation review meetings are scheduled and that accurate minutes are recorded.

Performance Management

  • Assist in the development of KPIs for each position.
  • Coordinate and facilitate quarterly performance assessments.
  • Work closely with the Head of Department to address performance-related matters.

Employee Relations & Compliance

  • Support disciplinary and grievance procedures in line with company policies and labour legislation.
  • Assist with maintaining and updating HR policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate with management to resolve staff-related issues.

Training & Development

  • Coordinate training and development initiatives.
  • Assist with the administration of skills development programmes.
  • Prepare and submit Workplace Skills Plans (WSP) and Annual Training Reports (ATR).

Compliance & Reporting

  • Manage BEE administration, including collecting and maintaining supporting documentation.
  • Assist with Employment Equity (EE) Plans and reporting.
  • Ensure HR compliance with relevant legislation and reporting requirements.

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Technical Knowledge:

  • Understanding of South African labour legislation (BCEA, LRA, EE Act, Skills Development Act).
  • Experience with leave management and HR administration systems.
  • Knowledge of BEE, Employment Equity reporting, and WSP/ATR submissions.

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong administrative and organisational skills.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
