We are looking for Health4men Retention Coaches who will be responsible for enhanced retention in men in care with specific focus on men (re)initiating ART, Men that are virally unsuppressed despite effective ART and Men at high risk of disengaging from care.

To also Provide comprehensive and supportive adherence counselling as per the National Adherence Strategy (NAS) SOP 1 and SOP 2,including I-ACT model.


Key Duties & Responsibilities

  • Recruit and receive referrals of highrisk men.
  • Schedule and arrange appointments for clients at the clinics.
  • Provide comprehensive counselling to promote retention in line with DoH policies and guidelines and in line with District 9090 DIP and Subdistrict IP plans.
  • Refer the Not Yet Ready to the Social Auxiliary Worker after utilising the Adherence plan.
  • Promote and facilitate index testing and facilitate partner disclosure using the Index Screening Tool and actively refer for HTS.
  • Promoting case finding for men.
  • Specifically focus on men in line with DoH & Anova work plan and MEN Star and MINA.
  • Provide Adherence Counselling to men who are reinitiated.
  • Welcome Back Campaign using the existing Welcome Back Assessment Tool.
  • Referral of men to relevant services e.g. (Index Testing, PrEP, GBV).
  • Recruit and refer patients to I-ACT adult individual counselling or support groups.

Minimum qualifications and experience

  • Matric (Grade12)
  • General knowledge of TB/HIV/PMTCT programme guidelines/counselling messages
  • General knowledge of health education
  • General counselling skills
  • Listening skills
  • Ability to maintain confidential information
