Description:

Production facility of a leading innovative engineering company is seeking a Quality Manager.

Salary is dependent on experience and qualifications


Qualifications and Experience Requirements:

  • Degree/National Diploma in Electrical Engineering
  • A minimum of 5 years' experience as a Quality Manager in the electronic engineering environment
  • Relevant quality management qualification
  • Proven experience performing inspections, PCB, PCBA, mechanics, looms, inprocess (subassembly and assembly) and outgoing inspections
  • Extensive IPC-A610 and IPC/WHMA-A620 experience
  • Experience working in an MRP/ERP environment
  • Experience in implementing and maintaining an ISO 9001 certified QMS
  • Proven experience in achieving the above key outcomes

Responsibilities and Key Outcomes:

  • Monitoring all operations that affect quality
  • Preserve the company reputation by ensuring quality of products and services
  • Oversee and maintain integrity of the QMS and ensuring continuous ISO 9001 certification
  • Oversee, partake in and perform audits and reviews (internal and external)
  • Manage the performance and development of the quality assurance team
  • Scope for opportunities for improvement and develop new efficient procedures
  • Review and approve/release of design and build documentation
  • Establish QA related strategies to improve efficiency and profitability at the facility, including developing and implementing quality control procedures, policies and standards for the company to follow.
  • Responsible for training all staff on qualityrelated processes and policies
  • Managing customer complaints/feedback relating to quality issues
  • Managing all internal and external nonconformances including trend analysis and corrective actions
  • Selection and continuous evaluation of suppliers and subcontractors
  • Continuously collaborate with all stakeholders including management, finance, admin and technical staff, to analyse and improve quality assurance related systems and processes.

Required Knowledge and Skills:

  • High computer proficiency including the Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint & Outlook)
  • Solid knowledge and understanding of quality assurance processes, policies and systems
  • Excellent organizational and leadership skills
  • Detailed knowledge of implementing and maintaining ISO certified quality management systems
  • Knowledge of and experience in working with ERP/MRP system(s)
