    Job Title: Professional Civil Engineer

    Durban, South Africa is the location of this position.

    Overview:

    A leading engineering consulting firm is seeking a highly skilled Professional Civil Engineer to provide innovative solutions and technical expertise to clients in sectors such as infrastructure development, transportation, water resources, and environmental projects.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Site investigations and assessments are conducted to gather data and determine project feasibility.
    • Detailed engineering designs, calculations, and specifications are prepared.
    • The construction process is managed and overseen, ensuring compliance with design plans and specifications.
    • Collaboration with multidisciplinary teams and communication with clients, contractors, and regulatory agencies are key.
    • Quality control checks and reviews are performed to ensure accuracy and adherence to applicable codes and standards.
    • Technical guidance and mentorship are provided to junior engineers and staff.
    • Business development activities, including proposal writing and client presentations, are participated in.

    Qualifications and Requirements:

    • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field is required.
    • Registration with the ECSA as a professional engineer (Pr Eng/Pr Tech) is necessary.
    • Minimum 10 years of consulting experience as a Civil Engineer, with 5 years preregistration and 5 years post-registration.
    • Civil projects and structural design experience are required.
    • Experience running projects and leading design teams is essential.
    • Strong knowledge of engineering principles, codes, and standards is necessary.
    • Proficiency in engineering design software, such as AutoCAD, Prokon and/or other relevant software; Revit would be beneficial.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required.
    • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and manage multiple projects is essential.
