    Job Title: Associate Professor Senior Lecturer Mathematics Science

    Nelson Mandela University is seeking a highly qualified and experienced Associate Professor Senior Lecturer to join our Mathematics and Science department. The successful candidate will be responsible for facilitating teaching and learning in Mathematics and Applied Mathematics at undergraduate and postgraduate levels, contributing to the administration of the department, and undertaking research.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Teach undergraduate and postgraduate students in Mathematics and Applied Mathematics.
    • Develop and deliver course materials for teaching modules in Mathematics and Applied Mathematics.
    • Attract external funding and provide research supervision to postgraduate students in Mathematics and Applied Mathematics.
    • Provide expertise in Functional Analysis, Abstract Algebra, Discrete Mathematics, or other disciplines in Pure Mathematics or Mathematics Education.
    • Perform teaching-related and departmental administrative duties.
    • Conduct research and publish results in peer-reviewed scientific journals.
    • Interact with industry groups, government departments, and research institutes to further the goals of the department and university.
    • Provide academic leadership and contribute to the development of the department.

    Requirements:

    • Ph.D. degree in Mathematics or a related field.
    • Minimum 3-7 years of relevant working experience, including lecturing experience.
    • Evidence of successful postgraduate supervision and throughput.
    • Evidence of research publications in national and international accredited conferences and/or journals.
    • Evidence of leadership ability and academic leadership experience.
