Description

The purpose of this position is to ensure that best management practices are followed in all areas of responsibility regarding the Workshop - operations, procedures and actions.

Promoting a customer service orientated business, to implement and uphold actions in line with company strategic vision and to operate the Workshop profitably according to set targets.


Key Performance Areas:
To perform this job successfully, the appointed individual must be able to perform essential key performance areas satisfactorily.

This list of key performance areas is not exhaustive and may be changed / supplemented to accommodate business needs from time to time:

  • 80% labour recovery required
  • Sound management of Workshop in line with budget and company strategic objectives (Work in progress, work scheduling, quality of work, quote accuracy, profitability of individual workshops and department, profitability of contracts etc)
  • Overall responsibility to ensure quality customer service of the Workshop, to ensure optimum response time and professional service at all times. (Through the evaluation of technician's training needs and ensuring lack of knowledge / skills are addressed.)
  • Overall responsibility to manage Workshop Personnel. (Including performance / productivity monitoring, weekly / monthly departmental meetings, managing leave and absenteeism, ensure effective internal communication).
  • Ensure regular feedback to the department staff keeping everyone up to date with company news, market trends and other relevant information.
  • Overall responsibility to ensure the Workshop team follows administrative procedures correctly.
  • Ensure OHSACT requirements are met on premises and that all regulations are adhered to.
  • Drive customer service excellence.
  • Grow the Workshop in line with company requirements.
  • Development and implementation of operational innovation.
  • Management and upkeep of the STR fleet, scheduled servicing, repairs, on hire and off hire checks.
  • Invoicing of customers when damages or abuse occurs.
  • Maintain accurate hourmeter records, inform administration department when to invoice for excess hours

Requirements:


  • Forklift Trade Test/Auto Electrical Trade Test or equivalent technical qualification
  • Code 8 driver's licence
