    Duties & Responsibilities

    The PVC Production Operator will be responsible for:

    • Comply with OHS Act and use the relevant safety apparel.
    • Must ensure that the machinery and equipment are in good working order and report faults when necessary.
    • Check raw materials before production and report when problems occur.
    • Must be able to operate and drive a forklift with a valid license.
    • Complete daily forklift checklist.
    • To identify and report adnormalities within all processes i.e. pre-weighting, packaging, production and equipment.
    • To identify and collect correct packaging as per the work order.
    • To take responsibility for own health and safety and the safety of those around you.
    • To comply with defined environmental procedures.
    • Keep the workplace and the surrounding areas clean and tidy at all times, including machinery.
    • Transport, with a forklift, all finished goods to the finished goods warehouse and storage area, with correct documentation.
    • To ensure that all the maintenance requests are logged with the Department Manager''''s approval.
    • To drive 5S and housekeeping requirements to the desired standards.
    • Ensure the forklift checks are completed daily.
    • Ensure the minimum rinse water generated is in accordance with the cleaning of equipment form (D2148) and NOT to flush down the drain the rinse water without permission from the Quality Control.
    • Any other reasonable duties that the PVC Section Manager sees fit from time to time.

    Desired Experience & Qualification

    • Min of Matric
    • Matric with Maths and Science ideal/advantageous
    • Science or NQF Level 2 or 3 / National Diploma in Chemical Engineering/Chemistry/or related field - Advantageous
    • Min 2 year experience in similar role
    • Must be able to operate a forklift
    • Must have a valid forklift license
