WHO ARE WE:
An award-winning, luxury travel destination management company, specialising in tailor-making luxury holidays and unparalleled escorted tours and safaris.

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR:
Senior Travel Consultant with inbound tour operating experience or lodge reservation background - Cape Town based.

WHAT WILL YOU DO:

Prepare competitive quotations and innovative itineraries for cruise agents using negotiated rates from approved suppliers with the aim of securing the most business possible
Obtain quotes from the air consultant for requested flight details for guests / agents
Ensure the margin strategy as set out by management is adhered to
Include a minimum of 20% new touring options per proposal and ensure that the proposal is prepared as per agreed processes and communication around the proposal is clear, engaging and salesorientated
Collect rates based on all quoted programmes including rates, validity, inclusions/exclusions, payment and cancellation terms before sending on to JHB database and accounts teams
Book all services (including flights where applicable) timeously upon selection of services by the cruise agent and update all trackers on the cruise drive
Manage waitlist and confirmation on pre/post/hotel stays and overland programmes as received from agents
Upsell port services by means of alternative tour programmes, shuttle services, crew tours and managing excursion waitlist as needed
Collate invoice details after obtaining final numbers and rooming lists from agent for overland and pre/post land and hotel services and send onto cruise finance in order to prepare invoice and to send to agent
Ensure all itineraries are up to date and corresponding with agent online programmes
Preparation of file includes preparing movement schedule, ordering water, completely the monthly forecast including debit card requirements and ticket requirements, staff travel etc.

WHAT WILL YOU NEED:

Strong destination management company experience
DMC
Knowledge and experience working with cruises advantageous
Tour consultant experience at a senior level in an inbound touroperating environment for a minimum of 7 years
Creative itinerary design, experience with costings and quoting
Excellent relationship building skills
Good product knowledge of Southern Africa
Office/administration skills
Understanding of on the ground operations and excellent quality control
Matric and travel diploma
