Description

A logistics company is seeking seasonal staff (from 15 September 2023 until 15 March 2024) on a fix term contract, for the following position, to join our team at Cape Town International Airport.

Renumeration will be market related according to experience:
As a
CARGO DOCUMENTATION CONTROLLER, assist Cargo Operations Controller with daily operations. Verify and keep records on import and export cargo as well as maintain applicable safety and quality standards.


RESPONSIBILITIES
- :
Prepare airline documentation

:
Deal with freight forwarders and clearing agents to receive/provide relevant documentation necessary for the cargo movements
:
Comply with company's Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and policies
:
Ensure paperwork is prepared timeously and accurately
:
Make sure paperwork related to cargo is correct before release
:
Assure proper compliance with local and international laws and regulations
:
Follow Dangerous Goods Requirements and Regulations
:
Comply with other general duties as assigned


QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCIES
- :
Grade 12 or relevant NQF level 4
:
Strong verbal and written communication skills in English
:
In possession of valid drivers' licence and forklift licence will be advantageous
:
Previous experience working in an aviation environment desirable
:
Must be able to work flexible hours
:
Ability to travel to the airport at times where public transport is not available
:
Willingness to work in inclement weather
:
Able to work in a manual environment and repeatedly lift to 32kg throughout a shift
:
Must work as a team in a fast-paced environment
:
Customer focus and quality awareness
