Varsity College is an educational brand of The Independent Institute of Education (The IIE). The IIE enjoys the reputation of being at the forefront of private higher education in South Africa and is registered with the Department of Higher Education and Training (DHET) to provide higher education qualifications accredited by the Council on Higher Education (CHE).


The IIE's Varsity College, Online Centre has a vacancy for a Campus Deputy Head.

Duties and Responsibilities

Full-time Marketing

  • Monitors all sales activities to achieve monthly and annual IIE's Varsity College sales targets.
  • Develops and maintains strategic longterm relationships with external stakeholders.
  • Approves and implements advertising and sponsorship initiatives on an adhoc basis.

Part-time Marketing

  • Monitors all sales activities to achieve monthly and annual IIE's Varsity College Part Time sales targets.
  • Develops and maintains strategic longterm relationships with external stakeholders, e.g. companies, corporate to ultimately achieve student targets.
  • Plans and implements corporate offerings to ensure that clients' needs are satisfied.

Human Capital Management

  • Leads and manages subordinates and support staff in the achievement of set objectives and targets.
  • Clarifies and sets subordinates and support staff's roles and responsibilities and performance objectives.
  • Manages and conducts performance reviews in accordance with policies and procedures and takes corrective action where necessary.
  • Implements a management succession plan.
  • Builds a proactive environment where subordinates and support staff can take responsibility for results.
  • Oversees Human Resources in accordance with policies, procedures and legal requirements.
  • Identifies critical skills essential for sustainability of service delivery and the development of succession plans.
  • Gives feedback to subordinates and support staff on performance and development.
  • Provides analysis and feedback on sales results and marketing initiatives to Sales Manager (Full Time) & Sales Manager (Part Time).

Minimum Qualification Requirements:


  • Advanced Diploma / Bachelors Degree (NQF level 7) in Marketing or related field

Minimum Work Experience Requirements:


  • Minimum of 4 years sales experience
