Qualifications:


  • Grade 12 / equivalent

Experience and Requirements:


  • A minimum of 5 years experience as a Logistics supervisor within the Steel industry
  • Computer literate on Ms Excel (Advanced) and Syspro would be advantageous
  • Physically fit and able to work on your feet
  • Able to work 07:30 16:30 Monday to Thursday
  • 07:30 13:30 Fridays
  • Bilingual in English and Afrikaans
  • Own Transport and a valid drivers licence
  • Have a stable work record and contactable references
  • Reside close to Germiston / Surrounding areas
  • Of sober habits

Duties and responsibilities:


  • Overseeing the loading and offloading of products, ensuring that they are properly secured and stored.
  • Managing the company's fleet of vehicles, including maintenance, service, licensing, and fuel, and ensuring that all vehicles are following safety regulations and company policies
  • Supervising and training drivers and transportation staff to ensure that they are performing their duties safely and efficiently.
  • Developing and implementing logistics strategies to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and increase customer satisfaction.
  • Monitoring and analysing transportation data to identify areas for improvement and costsaving opportunities.
  • Coordinating with other departments, such as production, sales, and customer service, to ensure that logistics activities are aligned with business objectives.
  • Monitoring the company fleet using tracker software to ensure the vehicles are being used efficiently.
  • Capturing daily vehicle trips and fuel usage on a spread sheet
