The purpose of the Senior People Support Specialist role is to execute key integration, support, and project orientated activities, in cooperation with and under the direction of the Supermarkets People Partner.

The Portfolio includes all Supermarket brands across RSA and non-RSA as defined by the role scope of the Supermarkets People Partner.

  • Provide general support as required by the Supermarkets People Partner, think one step ahead preparing robust templates, reports and consolidated plans and adjust seamlessly to frequent changes in a fastpaced environment.
  • Act as an interface between the Supermarket People Partner and various stakeholders facilitate issues that land in the Supermarket People Partner office.
  • As an allrounder (generalist), provide expertise within the Supermarket People portfolio. Coordinate, plan, take notes, track action items and deliverables for consolidated views that enable the People Partner to manage the scope of the Supermarket portfolio more effectively.
  • Prepare for all Divisional Trips and other adhoc meetings and requests to ensure the People Partner is always prepared with the information ahead of trips, meetings etc.
  • Serve crossfunctionally, collaborating on businessasusual activities, projects, executive reporting and adhoc requirements. Support a more effective and efficient flow of information, decisions etc.
  • Conduct research, position, write, and execute a full range of People orientated consolidated inputs, recons, reports, communications, and campaigns geared for multiple levels and stakeholder groups. Including Executive and Board level reporting and consolidation of various inputs received across the Supermarket Divisional People team.
  • Act as a consolidation point for all Supermarket People related issues. Screen information, handle escalations and provide recommendations for review by the People Partner (including daytoday operational activities and People Discipline / CCMA etc.)
  • Consolidate and recon daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly information related to SAP HR, SAP Finance, BPC, and HR Analytics Dashboards.
  • Support project activities and new initiatives as required.
  • Qualifications
  • Degree or Diploma in Human Resources or equivalent (beneficial)
  • Experience
- +3 years' experience in an operational and/or support orientated role in the Human Resources environment, with exposure to cross-functional HR projects and a good understanding of HR information, reports and presentations and the uses of digital and related technologies including relevant platforms (e.g., O365) and channels - (essential).

  • Demonstrable track record of providing general business/office support in terms of reporting at various levels from internal team reporting and feedback, through to executive board reports and related reporting inputs (essential).
  • We are looking for a unique individual who aims to continue building their career exposure in the People space.
  • Whilst holding exposure to an HR Generalist role including Payroll, Benefits, Compensation, Learning and Development, Industrial Relations, Budgeting and Cost Control, we need someone who can support the Supermarkets People Partner in a nationally distributed portfolio comprising Supermarket Divisions across South Africa with exposure to various activities, specifically with consolidating and tracking information including report and presentation creation. A thorough understanding of the day to day operations in the Checkers, Hypers, Shoprites, Usaves and Wholesaler brands including an understanding of HR practises in the Liquor Stores, Meat Markets and Financial services space.
  • Knowledge and Skills
  • Strong knowledge of reporting, presentations and communication trends and best practices, with specific
exposure to SAP and BPC - (essential).
