Main Purpose of Role:
Overview


Mastercard's Global Regulatory team is responsible for liaising with key regulators and government authorities to advocate and inform on regulations impacting the company and to ensure Mastercard complies with all applicable regulations.


This position will play a key role in supporting the strategic development & implementation of regulatory processes, controls, and the compilation of regulatory submissions and correspondence both within the Mastercard Eastern Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EEMEA) region as well as globally for Mastercard.


The role will have a particular focus on regulations impacting Mastercard's including incident management, operational resilience, third party risk management & outsourcing and security.

The position will support the Mastercard global regulatory team build and develop a holistic and scalable regulatory compliance strategy.


This position will report to Director, Regulatory Compliance, EEMEA Region, based in Johannesburg, South Africa and Senior Managing Counsel, Regulatory Affairs, Infrastructure, based in London.

This position is part of the Global Regulatory team.

The Senior Specialist, Regulatory Compliance EEMEA, will be responsible for maintaining regulatory compliance program for Mastercard - focused on synergies created from regulations with regulatory obligations including technology and operational risks over multiple jurisdictions within the EEMEA region.

The role will provide compliance support to help identify and implement best practices in regulatory compliance within the EEMEA region and globally.

Key Accountabilities of the Role


This position supports Director, Regulatory Compliance, EEMEA region, in implementing the Global Regulatory compliance strategy within the Mastercard EEMEA region.

The Senior Analyst, Regulatory Compliance role will be responsible for:

  • Support with the execution of regulatory compliance processes and controls within the EEMEA
  • The daytoday analysis and implementation and execution of the EEMEA regulatory compliance strategy to ensure countryspecific regulations are complied with and submissions are prioritized and completed on time
  • Support in conducting identified country level risk assessments and implementing policies, procedures and controls to mitigate risk
  • Produce regular regulatory compliance data points and information for management and other internal stakeholders to inform riskbased decisions
  • Update and maintain Mastercard's Global Regulatory inventories relating to regulatory reporting obligations, applicable regulations and controls
  • Support with the Regulatory Reporting Obligation process with the objective of ensuring that all reporting obligations are successfully completed within timelines.
  • Monitor ongoing regulatory obligations for regulated entities and products/services in the EEMEA region
  • Maintain relevant regulatory compliance policies and departmental procedures.
  • Support with the submissions to regulators and assist in the gathering of internal information in response to regulatory requests and working closely with relevant internal teams
  • Drive efficiencies in areas identified by the line managers; including opportunities to leverage the global business services center
  • Collaborating with Regulatory Affairs counsel in the region and to support in socialize changes and ensure input from all stakeholders
  • Work together with and assist other departments as required, both on a local/regional and a global level such as but not limited to regio
