    Description

    Purpose of the job:

    To lead and supervise the milling maintenance team responsible for asset care through preventative and corrective maintenance on site according to Premier quality and safety standards. (The Premier way).

    Job Objectives:

    1. To ensure optimal plant asset management through:

    a. Execute the asset care plan as per schedule and plans
    b. Ensure corrective and preventative maintenance performed as needed, both
    scheduled and unscheduled
    c. Ensuring up to date asset registers in collaboration with relevant managers
    d. Support performance management of suppliers by escalating issues to the manager
    or performing ad-hoc inspections.
    e. Ensuring cost effective inventory management of supplies and equipmen

    2. Ensure high performance culture in the maintenance team by:

    a. building and motivating capability through competency-based selection
    b. training and development, coaching, mentoring, performance management
    c. effective communications
    d. leading and participating in Invocoms and meetings as needed
    e. ensuring good discipline and accountability
    f. establishing good working relationships with union representatives
    g. ensuring a conducive and safe working environment according to the Premier way.

    3. To ensure full statutory and regulatory compliance to all health and safety and food safety
    requirements by:

    a. Training on SOP's by ensuring training of relevant personnel
    b. On job observation and coaching
    c. Inspections and reports on quality of work
    d. Participate in Audits
    e. Ensure implementation of agreed corrective actions

    4. To ensure continuous improvement of the maintenance process and function through:

    a. Culture of learning and continuous improvement in the Invocom
    b. Performing route cause analysis and problem solving
    c. Implementing/ executing CI ideas with relevant stakeholders
    d. Participating in CIP projects as needed

    5. To complete training and development and stand in for the Maintenance manager as needed
    to build capacity in the succession pipeline for this role.
