How You'll Make an Impact

  • Successfully applies a broad knowledge to complex concepts, practices, and procedures of particular areas of specialisation.
  • Ensures implementation of EHS regulations / procedures and QMS standards, specifications, principles, and guidelines at site.
  • Contributes to implementation of effective Integrated Management System which meets customer, regulatory and Siemens Energy needs.
  • Contributes to set local SHEQ related targets and requests the required SHEQ resources to meet these targets. Serves as key contact for all SHEQ matters.
  • Ensures proper qualification and leads the SHEQ team members/experts and liaises with all relevant functions and stakeholders.
  • Consults local business management on all SHEQ related matters.
  • Ensures effectiveness of operational control and SHEQ related processes.
  • Promotes a holistic and comprehensive understanding of SHEQ.
  • Provide SHEQ inputs for all bids/tenders and work closely with GotoMarket team to ensure quality inputs.
  • Supports and monitors risk assessments.
  • Organizes and conducts trainings measures, best practice sharing and safety instructions.
  • Guides, advises, and provides with his/her expertise about safety, instructions, and regulations.
  • Promotes Zero Harm Culture / Zero Tolerance and participates in Siemens Energy internal initiatives.
  • Determines and address nonconformities; ensures adequate closure of all NCRs.
  • Coordinate, evaluate, and control external services and work deliverables.
  • Occupational Safety regulations.
  • Supports defining and implementing corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
  • Collects necessary data, evaluates, and compiles all relevant information(e.g. non
- conformances, accidents and incidents) in a Safety report (for internal and external target groups e.g. Occupational Safety authorities, internal stakeholder, EHS department etc.)

  • Escalates nonconformities, where necessary.
  • Supports effective integration of safety aspects and impacts in relevant processes.
  • Supports implementation of Safety Guidelines.
  • Develops processes for maintaining effective Integrated management system, to fulfil legal and internal requirements.
  • Checks compliance regarding the requirements by means of internal and external auditing.
  • Plans and conducts SHEQ audits and assessments, including contractors and suppliers.
  • Supports and derives incident investigation (incl. root cause analysis, appropriate measures, effectiveness check).
  • Evaluates and analyses data to measure success of Safety Management measures or to determine new measures, to avoid accidents.
  • Proposes safety related targets, budget, and resources.
  • Supports first aid organization.
  • Maintains operational relationships with relevant regulatory and/or governmental authorities, local or regionally.
  • For projects, interacts with customer on site regarding SHEQ related aspects.
  • Ensures contractor compliance (File evaluation, contractor inspections and Audits).
  • Be able to travel at short notice to plants that require fast support.
  • Travelling in South Africa and on the Continent likely (up to 60%).

Project Specific, be responsible for:

  • Various principal areas of responsibilities are (not exhaustive):
  • Work in a team or as a group lead role during proposal, SITE execution activities.
  • Interface to client or others related to the Siemens Energy function.
  • Accurately report on status and deliverables.
  • Documentation as per requirements with the responsibility through to acceptance.
  • Writing of reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ensure ongoing education and development of both self and others with knowledge transfer.

What You Bring

  • A background education relevant to the Control and Instrumentation sector or a demonstration in experience for the same.
  • At least 510 years' experience.
  • Experience working in projects both small and large.
  • Has been involved in several projects in areas ideally including the phases of engineering design, construction, commissioning, and handover: Energy Sector exposure advantageous.
