My client is one of South Africa's leading suppliers of frozen fruit, purees and concentrates and services the industrial trade.

They source local fresh fruits for freezing and also export worldwide.
With 2 cold storage facilities and distribution centres they distribute to all national and international markets. An exciting opportunity arose to work with this top-notch company as a Groundsmen / Yard Keeper. If this interests you, then please do read further.


Position details:


Type:
Contract (duration of contract: 6 months.)

Reports to:
Warehouse Supervisor


Job description / core competencies:
Maintain condition and appearance of grounds, flower beds and paved areas.
Planting, trimming, mulching and fertilising flowers, shrubs, and trees.
Watering of all flower beds.
Cleaning and painting outside benches, poles, and signs.
Keeping grounds free from trash, litter, debris, and weeds.
Cleaning and maintaining equipment and materials.
Inspect, repair, and maintain pallets.
Sort pallets as per procedure.
Assist with the moving of heavy objects outside the building.
Perform daily inspection of machinery and equipment used outside the building.
Complete daily check sheets and report any deviation/breakage.
Follow safety policies and procedures.
Assist in warehouse when required.

Job Qualification & Experience:
Matric.
Valid forklift license.
Proficient with operating groundskeeping equipment such as hedge trimmers, garden scissors, power tools, forklifts.
Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
Physically fit, strong, agile, and dexterous.
Must be willing to work shifts and extra hours from time to time.
