- To coordinate, supervise and monitor daily tasks, priorities and work plans and ensure team outputs are of an acceptable standard.
- Maintains an organised and logical yard operation.
- Plan daily/weekly manpower needs based on upon business demands and closely monitors overtime hours.
- Oversees facility equipment and ensures equipment is operationally safe and regularly serviced.
- Ensure yard staff are continually trained in container management and organizing yard operation to function in an organized, productive manner.
- Manage the logistics of all material (location, flow of goods) to ensure proper storage avoiding congestion.
- Ensure container records are correctly captured on high jump system (stock management system)
- Ensure associates are provided with correct PPE and that they consistently use approved safety equipment.
- Conducts safety meetings and consistently executes all safety policies.
- Conducts monthly safety yard inspections, documents findings/observations and distributes to the appropriate management personnel.
- Manage yard and warehouse ensuring compliance with company policy cleanliness and housekeeping standards.
- To effectively train, motivate and monitor staff activities.
- To monitor performance (in relevant areas) according to agreed standards and takes necessary action to communicate, advise and assist staff according to set expected performance levels.
- Diploma Logistics or relevant qualification
- 2 – 3 years experience in warehousing preferably in receiving environment
- Inbound and receiving knowledge and understanding DC operations and retail in general.
