Description
We are looking for a dynamic individual with a STRONG aptitude to coordinate, organise and analyse large amounts of environmental data for corporate clients.
Applicants that have an understanding of how a Carbon Footprint is calculated will have a added advantage for this role.
Requirements
:
- Manage multiple corporate clients environmental, social and governance (ESG) data;
- Communicate, collect, manage, and organise ESG data from various service providers for each of the corporate clients;
- Normalise and transform data into organised structure;
- Reconcile largescale data identifying gaps, trends, etc.;
- Perform quality control on internal calculations and outgoing reports and correct data anomalies.

:
Experience with MS Office suite, specifically advanced Excel and Power Query
- You are going to be working with a lot of files in multiple file formats. It is essential that you are a "Ninja" in using the MS suite to be able to perform the task._
Strong analytical skills to reconcile and detect anomalies, trends, and outliers
- You will need to review your work, reconcile data and undertake trend analysis. We are looking for a "data detective" that will interrogate data and query anomalies and outliers._
Organisational skills
- Working with large amounts of data daily will require you to have impeccable organisation skills to ensure data remains upto date, is kept in an organised fashion and communicated to all relevant stakeholders ontime._
Ability to manage time, meet tight deadlines and deliverables across multiple clients
- We are a a clientcentric company. We are never late with deadline. For this reason you need to be level headed, be able to multi task and not "drop the ball". It is imperative that you are able to manage multiple clients and track and manage projects as efficiently as possible._
Good client management skills
- Each of our clients are at different stages of maturity on their sustainability journey. Together with the GCX team, you will be required to ensure that clients are progressing. This task involves interacting with the GCX team and utilising internal resources to assist the client wherever necessary._
Ability to deliver effective presentations
- Our clients need to be kept up to date at all times. This often requires a presentation to our clients' executives. You would be required to create presentations to provide the clients with updates and insights in line with their sustainability journey._
Ability to conduct extensive research
- With the sustainability space changing almost on a daybyday basis, we are looking for someone who goes beyond the call of duty to provide solutions. This task will help you define your growth potential within our company_
A basic understanding of environmental impacts due to business's operations and products [Basic Carbon Accounting]
- Whilst Basic Carbon accounting is not necessarily a requirement for the role, we require the applicant to learn the fundamentals in a relatively short space of time. Should you not have an interest in Carbon Accounting, then this role is not for you._
Desirable
Below is a list of skillsets that are embedded in our organisation. Should you have any of these as part of your experience, we'd like to get an understanding as to what skills you have and how you have used them
:
- Exposure to energy efficiency and renewable energy projects
- Experience with the Greenhouse Gas Corporate Accounting and Reporting Protocol or ISO14064
- Experience with the delivery of ISO1400
- Experience with Business Intelligence tools, especially MS Power BI
- Experience in delivery of environmental and/or sustainability reporting
- Experience with emissions reductions processes
- Exposure to a network of professionals in the field
- Software tools development
- Experience in auditing, including verification / assurance
- General knowledge of South Africa's carbon tax and reporting regulations
- General knowledge of global climate and ESG reporting frameworks
