GENERAL DESCRIPTION


The SNR Inventory & Operations Team Leader is responsible for all tasks related to inventory management & accuracy, MHE (Material Handling Equipment) management & accuracy and the management of the dayshift FG team within the UPP warehousing operations.

The incumbent must develop, implement, and maintain the overall Supply Chain Management operations, including demand planning, stock control / accuracy, storage planning, procurement activities, contract and overall supplier / customer relationship management, distribution planning, waste management and disposal, staff performance, and risk management.

The incumbent also needs to continuously review Supply Chain performance and make necessary adjustments to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the Supply Chain.

MAJOR ACTIVITIES / PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Supervisory Activities

Work with the FG Warehouse Manager to implement effective and robust inventory processes and procedures to ensure a high level of stock / inventory

integrity and accuracy.

Maintain accurate written policies & procedures.

Manage, maintain, and control the movement and stock levels of all MHE (internally and externally).

Management stock count process and relevant team.

Promoting the company values and instilling motivation.

Ensure that shift handovers are done correctly.

Ensure all visual dash boards is update daily

Responsible for the upkeep of applicable housekeeping standards.


Responsible for a disciplined workforce / resolving conflict in an amicable manner and in accord with the company policies and procedures.

Initiate cost improvement projects based on continuous improvement.

Manage logistics utilized to transport products to customers and internal facilities, communicating with warehouse supervisors and team leaders to ensure

efficient delivery of goods.

Ability to supervise a staff compliment of +/- 20 people across multiple sites.

Daily Tasks

Ensuring that all WIP Production has been counted and tracked.

Ensure all system transactions are updated and closed off by relevant people in real-time on WMS and ERP.

Keeping the Management team and relevant stakeholders informed of existing and potential stock issues.

Conducting regular stock counts (cycle & full) and investigating all stock variances.

Liaises, on an ongoing basis, with dispatch controller, Team leader or Supervisor regarding stock requirements for specific sites.

Identifying and reporting on slow and non-moving stock items.

Ensuring that all stock variances & investigations are recorded on Z-drive

General filing and administration.

Communication with internal stakeholders as and when needed to ensure proper flow of information and services.


Carrying out any other ad hoc duties as may be imposed by management and assisting in other departments where necessary.

Provide Back-up and support to the Inventory Controller & MHE Controller.

Ensure WIP Production is checked and recoded on every shift

Check that the pallets being used by production are the correct type and are sufficient for production.

Manage and coordinate the put-away of goods received from production and goods returned by customers

Receive and collate Picking tickets.

Allocate Picking tickets to warehouse staff.

Responsible for blind counts completion on all shipments and replenishment deliveries.

Ensure orders are picked and checked accurately.

Ensure stock being sent is clean and damage free (on time, quantity, and quality.)

All necessary documentation to be completed after dispatching (CHEP Slip/ Seal number/ Vehicle Inspection sheet)

Ensure all invoicing is completed and posted on WMS and company ERP

Ensure all export documentation is completed.

Safety & Housekeeping

Responsible for the shift safeness of employees and the applicable equipment used in the area.

Keep all machines i.e.

pallet jack / forklifts / reach trucks in good and clean working order, along with a clean and tidy warehouse.

Responsible for good housekeeping and safe working environment in the Finished Goods areas.

Ensure compliance in terms of the OHSA.

Report any incidents or near-miss incidents

Ensure that the department is always ISO compliant, and all findings are resolved timeously.

Adhoc

Assisting with ad hoc tasks and enquiries when required.

Assisting on shift when required.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED

Knowledge and understanding of warehouse principles, activities, and functions (inbound and outbound).


High Computer literacy:
MS Office.

Must be able to converse, read and write fluently in English.

Attention to detail is imperative.

Sage experience and understanding will be beneficial.

Must take pride in his/her work.

Understanding CHEP Portal systems beneficial
