Sales Manager /Director - Chemical Raw Materials

  • A wellestablished chemical raw materials company supplying raw materials into the manufacturing industries requires the above to manage and drive a sales team and oversee very senior key accounts for the company.

Minimum requirements for the role:


  • A tertiary qualification in either a business or chemistry or related field preferred but not essential.
  • Previous sales management experience is required for this role.
  • Previous experience as a Sales Manager working within the chemical raw material / manufacturing industries is essential for the role.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills is essential.
  • Must be a strong team player with the ability to build and foster relationships.
  • Computer literacy with good working knowledge of Microsoft packages is essential.
  • Managing, driving and overseeing all sales and commercial operations and business activities on a national basis to ensure the company achieves the desired results and are consistent with the overall strategy and mission.
  • Managing and driving a sales team to achieve their KPI's.
  • Managing and overseeing sales agencies and senior key accounts.
  • Presenting monthly sales and project reports to the Directors.
  • Driving new business development with new and existing clients alongside the sales team.
  • Manage and oversee price increase negotiations.
  • Driving and managing the entire supply chain process, targeting products and identifying client needs, negotiating deals and closing.
  • Ensuring that the agreed targets concerning market share, cost of sales, sales turnover as well as variable gross margins are being achieved, by providing effective implementation and implementing control of customer and market concepts.
  • Attending quarterly executive management team meetings to analyse financials, setting budgets, forecasting expenditure and implementing the cost control thereof.

Salary package, including benefits, is highly negotiable depending on experience gained.
