Main purpose of the job:


  • To strategically manage and lead the clinical trial team and activities and to provide health care to patients participating in clinical trials according to study protocols

Location:

-
PHRU, Omnipark Block 1, Aeroton, Johannesburg South

Key performance areas:


  • Lead protocols as principal investigator including clinical trial oversight or management
  • Provision of clinical care to patients and participants
  • Accurate and comprehensive medical record keeping
  • Staff management
  • To assist with the daytoday running of the study and manage clinic flow
  • To review and edit source documents
  • To conduct training for sponsor and protocolrelated documents

Required minimum education and training:

MBChB/MBBCh Degree:

-
Postgraduate Diploma

Required minimum work experience:

-
At least 3 years of work experience in a clinical research environment:

-
Worked as a principal or sub-investigator on 2 completed clinical trials

Professional body registration:


  • HPCSA registration
  • Medical Protection Society Membership

Desirable additional education, work experience, and personal abilities:


  • Registered with MPS
  • Attention to detail
  • Respect for participant altruism in volunteering for clinical trials
  • Excellent clinical skills and attention to detail
  • Good Clinical Practice (GCP) certification
  • Empathy and sensitivity toward people from key populations
  • Research experience or willingness to learn
  • Computer literacy
  • Ability and willingness to work on COVID19related studies in accordance with PHRU COVID19 regulations
